<p>Complex floral scents make excellent perfumes. When we smelled the new <a href="http://bbshare.co/3S" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Modern Floral fragrance oils</a>, we knew they would be perfect for body oils. They&#8217;re extremely easy to make &#8211; simply choose a lightweight liquid oil, mix in your fragrance, and transfer to a container.</p>
<p>For this recipe, we chose <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fractionated coconut oil</a>. It&#8217;s extremely lightweight and thin so it works well in the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Mini-Spray-Bottle-P4951.aspx?ItemId=40627840&amp;Options=7690" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mini Spray Bottles</a>. If you&#8217;d like to use a slightly heavier oil, we recommend using a <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Glass-Roller-Bottles-P6720.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">roller ball container</a> to avoid clogging.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/scents/fragrance-oils/floral-fragrances">Shop Floral Fragrance Oils</a>.</p>

<p>To create a cohesive set that&#8217;s perfect for gift giving, <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Floral-Body-Oil-Label-Template-Free-PDF-P6882.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">free downloadable labels</a> are available for the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Mini-Spray-Bottle-P4951.aspx?ItemId=40627840&amp;Options=7690" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mini Spray Bottles</a>. <p>Perfume and body oils are considered a leave-on product, which is not washed off after application. When fragrance oils are applied directly to the skin, they can cause irritation. That&#8217;s why it’s important to use a safe amount. One way to find out how much fragrance to use is to select “lotion” on the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Lye-Calculator.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator</a>.</p>
<p>You may notice that usage rate is extremely small. That&#8217;s because the fragrance calculator errs on the side of extreme caution. To find the maximum usage rate for a fragrance oil for leave-on products, consult the IFRA Certificate. That can be requested by emailing MSDS (at) brambleberry (dot) com.</p>
<p>The IFRA usage rates for the oils used in this tutorial are listed below. This number refers to how much of the product can be made up of the fragrance oil. For example, <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Wild-Rose-Fragrance-Oil-P6850.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wild Rose Fragrance Oil</a> can be used in your perfume up to 12%. <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Daisy-Chain-Fragrance-Oil-P6852.aspx">Daisy Chain Fragrance Oil</a> can be used up to 48%, but that doesn&#8217;t mean you <em>have</em> to use that much fragrance in your product.</p>
</div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"><strong>Max IFRA Usage Rates for Category 4</strong></div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Wild-Rose-Fragrance-Oil-P6850.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wild Rose Fragrance Oil</a>: 12%</div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Blushing-Orchid-Fragrance-Oil-P6851.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Blushing Orchid Fragrance Oil</a>: 14.2%</div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Babys-Breath-Fragrance-Oil-P6849.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Baby&#8217;s Breath Fragrance Oil</a>: 20%</div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Daisy-Chain-Fragrance-Oil-P6852.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daisy Chain Fragrance Oil</a>: 48%</div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div class="gmail_default" style="text-align: left;">
<p>The recipes below are formulated depending on how much of each perfume you&#8217;d like to make. If you&#8217;d like to make 10 bottles of only one fragrance, use the first recipe. If you&#8217;d like to make two sets of all four fragrances for a total of eight bottles, use the second recipe.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>ONE: </strong>Pour 3 ounces of fractionated coconut oil into a small container.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-67851" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ONE-3.jpg" alt="ONE" width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ONE-3.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ONE-3-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/ONE-3-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>TWO:</strong> Add the fragrance oil of your choice and use a spoon to thoroughly mix the oils together.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-67853 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE-2.jpg" alt="THREE" width="700" height="1009" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE-2.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE-2-208x300.jpg 208w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE-2-347x500.jpg 347w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-67852 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/TWO-3.jpg" alt="TWO" width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/TWO-3.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/TWO-3-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/TWO-3-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /><strong><br />
THREE:</strong> Carefully transfer the oil mixture to the Mini Spray Bottles. If you have a hard time pouring with a steady hand, using a dropper can help.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-67854 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE2.jpg" alt="THREE2" width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE2.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE2-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/THREE2-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Apply a label to the bottle for a finishing touch. To use, spray the oil onto the skin. Rub in gently to help the skin absorb the oil. Enjoy.</p>

<p>Massage oil is one of the easiest bath and body DIY projects. Simply mix skin-loving oils with fragrance and you have boutique-quality massage oil at home. The <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Massage-Essential-Oil-Blend-P6781.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massage Essential Oil Blend</a> gives this oil a rich and spicy scent.</p>
<p>This massage oil is made with some of the most sought-after exotic oils: <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Argan-Oil-P5574.aspx?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">argan</a>, <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Jojoba-Oil-Golden-P3219.aspx?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jojoba</a>, and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Moringa-Seed-Oil-P6745.aspx?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moringa seed oil</a>. <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fractionated coconut oil</a> is added to give the oil a lighter feel. If you don&#8217;t have one of these oils on hand, you can use a substitute. Just keep in mind that it will change the texture and moisturizing properties slightly.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-65933 size-full" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MassageOil3_700px.jpg" alt="How to Make Essential Oil Massage Oil" width="700" height="527" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MassageOil3_700px.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MassageOil3_700px-365x275.jpg 365w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MassageOil3_700px-300x226.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MassageOil3_700px-664x500.jpg 664w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Massage-Essential-Oil-Blend-P6781.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massage Essential Oil Blend</a> is a complex blend of pure essential oils. It was specifically formulated for massage and body oils. It contains more than 10 essential oils, including peppermint, rosemary, cinnamon, lavender, and elemi. <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Massage-Essential-Oil-Blend-P6781.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Learn more about the blend here</a>. This recipe contains enough essential oil for a light to medium scent. If you&#8217;d like a stronger scent, feel free to add more. Use the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Fragrance-Calculator.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator</a> to help find the right amount.</p>

<p><strong>ONE:</strong> In a small container, mix together the argan oil, jojoba oil, moringa seed oil, and fractionated coconut oil. Use a spoon to mix the oils together.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-65939 size-full" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ONE.jpg" alt="How to Make Essential Oil Massage Oil" width="700" height="1018" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ONE.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ONE-206x300.jpg 206w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ONE-344x500.jpg 344w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p><strong>TWO:</strong> Add the Massage Essential Oil Blend to the oils. Adjust the amount of essential oil depending on your scent preference. Use a spoon to thoroughly mix the essential oil into the oil mixture. Carefully pour the massage oil into your bottle or other container. Store in a cool, dark place.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-65940 size-full" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/TWO.jpg" alt="How to Make Essential Oil Massage Oil" width="700" height="648" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/TWO.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/TWO-300x278.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/TWO-540x500.jpg 540w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p><strong>THREE:</strong> Once you&#8217;re ready to use, pour a small amount of oil into your hands to warm it up and massage into skin. You can also place a small amount of oil in the microwave to warm it up before use if you like your massage oil hot.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">If your hair is feeling dry, oil might be the answer. This is especially true if you use hot styling tools every day or color your hair. Hair oil can be used in a variety of ways depending on your hair texture and severity of dryness. This Hydrating Hair Oil was specifically formulated to be easy to make and to be used in a variety of ways depending on your preference. <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fractionated coconut oil</a> gives this oil an overall light texture, while <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Argan-Oil-P5574.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">argan oil</a> adds <a href="http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.2042-7158.2010.01190.x/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amazing antioxidant properties</a> along with a blend of fatty acids that are amazing for hair.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-61335 size-full" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lavender-Hair-and-Body-Oil-Treatment.jpg" alt="DIY Lavender Hair Oil Treatment" width="700" height="509" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lavender-Hair-and-Body-Oil-Treatment.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lavender-Hair-and-Body-Oil-Treatment-300x218.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lavender-Hair-and-Body-Oil-Treatment-688x500.jpg 688w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lavender-Hair-and-Body-Oil-Treatment-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>Need some extreme moisture? Gently heat the hair oil and apply to dry hair. Wrap your hair in a warm, dry towel and allow the oil to penetrate the oil for about 30 minutes. Wash out thoroughly; it will probably take two shampoos to fully remove the oil. You can also apply a small amount of oil to the ends of dry or wet hair to keep hair smooth throughout the day. This recipe is also suitable for beards, facial hair and can be used as a body oil. This project also includes free templates! <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Home-Spa-Label-Template-downloadable-PDF-P6689.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Download them here</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>ONE: </strong>In a small container, combine the fractionated coconut oil, argan oil, cucumber extract, and lavender 40/42 essential oil. Stir until everything is fully mixed together.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>TWO:</strong> Slowly and carefully, pour the hair oil into the three brushed aluminum bottles. You can use a <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Funnel-8-oz-P5134.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">funnel</a> if you like. Cap the bottles with the pump top and enjoy!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-61340 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/FIVE.jpg" alt="five" width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/FIVE.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/FIVE-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/FIVE-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">If you&#8217;d like to use the oil as a hot treatment, pump the oil into a heat-safe container and heat on 10-second bursts. You want the oil warm but not too hot, otherwise it can burn the scalp. Spread the warm oil over your hair. Put on a shower cap and then a warm towel, or just a towel if you like. Leave the oil on for 30 minutes up to 2 hours, then wash it out. This oil can also be used (very) sparingly on the ends of hair to keep them hydrated, or can be applied to skin to keep it soft and hydrated during any season.</p>

Body oil perfume is a great way to lightly scent the skin while applying moisturizing oils. In addition, it does not get any easier to create. Simply add skin safe <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Fragrance-Oils-C161.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fragrance oils</a> to <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fractionated coconut oil</a> and voila! Fractionated coconut oil acts as a great base for the spray because it&#8217;s lightweight and thin enough to spray out of the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Bramble-Berrys-Juicy-Couture-Type-Fragrance-Oil-P6341.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mini Spray Bottles</a>. I also added a bit of <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Evening-Primrose-Extract-P4937.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">evening primrose extract</a> for extra skin benefits; feel free to use any <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Botanical-Extracts-C28.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oil soluble extract</a> you prefer.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For this perfume I chose a mixture of <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Bramble-Berrys-Juicy-Couture-Type-Fragrance-Oil-P6341.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bramble Berry&#8217;s Juicy Couture Fragrance Oil</a> and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Exotic-Musk-Fragrance-Oil-P5518.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Exotic Musk Fragrance Oil</a>. The Juicy Couture Type Fragrance is a blend of both fruity and floral scents, and smells incredibly feminine. It&#8217;s based on the popular perfume and contains notes of mandarin, lily, sandalwood and vanilla. The Exotic Musk Fragrance Oil helps bring out the base notes and creates a slightly more sophisticated scent. Of course this recipe can be customized with whichever <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Fragrance-Oils-C161.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fragrance oils</a> you may prefer!</p>
<p><a href="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Body-Oil-Perfume.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-55402 size-full" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Body-Oil-Perfume.jpg" alt="Learn how to create your own spray perfume in this easy DIY. " width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Body-Oil-Perfume.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Body-Oil-Perfume-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Body-Oil-Perfume-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a></p>
<p>Perfume is considered a &#8220;leave-on&#8221; product. A leave-on product is anything that is not washed off after application, such as lotion or balms. Because the ingredients stay on the skin, it&#8217;s important to use a safe amount of fragrance oil. Remember, when fragrance oils are applied directly to the skin, they can cause irritation. One way to find out how much fragrance to use is to select &#8220;lotion&#8221; on the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Lye-Calculator.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator</a>. But, you may notice that usage rate is extremely small. This is because the fragrance calculator errs on the side of extreme caution. To find out the maximum usage rate for a fragrance oils in leave on products such as perfumes, consult the IFRA Certificate for the fragrance oil. That can be requested by emailing MSDS (at) Brambleberry (dot) com.</p>

<p><em>NOTE: We did not use a preservative in this recipe, because this recipe does not contain water. It offers a unique combination of cleansing, firming and skin-loving properties to recipes. In addition, coconut oil is wonderful in a variety of other bath and beauty projects such as scrubs, lip balm, hair care and more. It has become particularly popular in the past few years, as many use coconut oil as a skin and hair moisturizer.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Coconut-Oil-P3196.aspx" target="_blank">Coconut oil</a> is harvested from the seeds of the coconut tree (cocos nucifera) and is primarily cultivated from Southeast Asia and the Philippines. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and melts to a clear liquid oil at  76 ° F. It&#8217;s made up of various fatty acids, including saturated and non-saturated. In particular, coconut oil contains a large amount of lauric and myristic saturated acids. The unique fatty acid composition of coconut oil gives it fantastic cleansing properties.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Coconut-Oil2.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-55070 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Coconut-Oil2.jpg" alt="Coconut Oil2" width="700" height="500" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Coconut-Oil2.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Coconut-Oil2-300x214.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Coconut-Oil2-160x115.jpg 160w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a><em>Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and liquid above 76 ° F. </em></p>
<p>Coconut oil can be altered to create different &#8220;versions&#8221; of the oil. You may have also seen 92 ° F coconut oil on various <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Lye-Calculator.aspx" target="_blank">lye calculators</a>. The 92 ° F coconut oil has been hydrogenated to create a coconut oil with a higher melt point. This means that unsaturated fatty acids in the oil are converted to saturated acids, which increases the melting point. The oil sold at Bramble Berry is 76 ° F. If you&#8217;re unsure what kind of coconut oil you have, it&#8217;s usually safe to assume the oil is non-hyrogenated, 76 ° F coconut oil. This is the most common type of coconut oil found in stores and online.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank">Fractionated coconut oil</a> is created by separating fatty acids from the whole oil. Specifically, the long chain triglycerides are removed, leaving behind the short and medium chain fatty acids. Fractionated coconut oil is a stable product with an an almost indefinite shelf life. It&#8217;s incredibly lightweight and does not leave a greasy feeling on the skin, making it a great option for massage oil and lotions. Fractionated coconut oil is clear and liquid at room temperature. It works great as a carrier oil for fragrances, or in products such as scrubs, bath bombs and lip products. Check out the <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/honey-kisses-sheer-lipstick-tutorial/" target="_blank">Honey Kisses Lipstick Tutorial</a> for a fantastic lip recipe using <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank">fractionated coconut oil</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><em>Note: The <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank">Caprylic Capric Triglycerides-fractionated coconut oil</a> found at Bramble Berry is specifically the short chain fatty acids, known as caprylic capric triglycerides. It&#8217;s slightly different from fractionated coconut oil, as it only contains the short chain fatty acids. It can, however, be used in place of fractionated coconut oil, with a slightly lighter, silkier feel.</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">In the <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/happy-feet-moisturizing-heel-balm/" target="_blank">Moisturizing Heel Butter</a>, <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/CaprylicCapric-Triglycerides-Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx" target="_blank">fractionated coconut oil</a> is added to give the balm a smoother and softer texture. Because fractionated coconut oil absorbs so easily into the skin, it&#8217;s used with <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Argan-Oil-P5574.aspx" target="_blank">argan</a> and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Sweet-Almond-Oil-P3205.aspx" target="_blank">sweet almond oil</a> in the <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/soaks-and-scrubs/baby-massage-oil-video/" target="_blank">Baby Massage Oil</a> tutorial. Fractionated coconut oil is also added to the <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/givember-massage-oil/" target="_blank">Givember Massage Oil</a> for a lightweight texture.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-55067 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5.jpg" alt="collage" width="700" height="700" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5-300x300.jpg 300w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5-500x500.jpg 500w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5-120x120.jpg 120w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5-170x170.jpg 170w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/collage5-240x240.jpg 240w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a><em>Top: <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/soaks-and-scrubs/baby-massage-oil-video/" target="_blank">Baby Massage Oil</a></em><br />

<p>In cold process soap, coconut oil is generally used around 20-30% of the recipe. Coconut oil is a super cleansing addition that produces big, copious bubbles. It is so good at its job that it can strip skin of moisture. That leaves the skin dry and even irritated. A usage rate of 30% is ideal for the perfect balance of cleansing without drying. For more sensitive skin, keep the coconut oil at 15% or less in your bar. That being said, soaping rules are made to be broken! In <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/defying-the-rules-of-soapmaking-100-coconut-oil-soap-with-aloe-vera-and-a-mantra-swirl/" target="_blank">this recipe</a> from <a href="http://www.modernsoapmaking.com/" target="_blank">Modern Soapmaking</a>, Kenna shows you how to create a bar with 100% coconut oil. To make sure the bar is not drying, Kenna uses a 20% superfat and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Aloe-Vera-Liquid-P3704.aspx" target="_blank">aloe vera liquid.</a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/coconut-oil-collage.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-55064 aligncenter" src="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/coconut-oil-collage.jpg" alt="coconut oil collage" width="700" height="350" srcset="https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/coconut-oil-collage.jpg 700w, https://eadn-wc05-18592439.nxedge.io/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/coconut-oil-collage-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a><em>This soap made by Kenna of <a href="http://www.modernsoapmaking.com/" target="_blank">Modern Soapmaking</a> uses 100% coconut oil and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Aloe-Vera-Liquid-P3704.aspx" target="_blank">aloe vera liquid</a> to create a cleansing and moisturizing bar.</em></p>
<p>If you&#8217;re looking for more cold process soap recipes using coconut oil, good news! Just about all my cold process recipes use coconut oil. =) In my opinion, coconut oil is the trickiest to substitute because it gives the soap firming, lathering and cleansing properties. If you are looking to formulate a recipe without coconut oil, <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Palm-Kernel-Flakes-P3446.aspx">palm kernel flakes</a> can help. I recommend using 15% or less of <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Palm-Kernel-Flakes-P3446.aspx">palm kernel flakes</a> in your cold process recipe.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;d like to use coconut oil in more bath and beauty products, the <a href="https://soapqueen.live/bath-and-body-tutorials/soaks-and-scrubs/coconut-oil-pink-salt-scrub/" target="_blank">Coconut Oil &amp; Pink Salt Scrub</a> uses both <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Coconut-Oil-P3196.aspx?ItemId=27216984&amp;Options=7249" target="_blank">76 ° F coconut oil</a> and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Fractionated-Coconut-Oil-P4957.aspx?ItemId=27216983&amp;Options=7702" target="_blank">fractionated coconut oil</a>. The combination of the oils creates a texture that is creamy and spreadable at room temperature. It&#8217;s scented with <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Lime-Fragrance-Oil-P3939.aspx?ItemId=27216986&amp;Options=8013" target="_blank">Lime Fragrance Oil</a> and <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/Island-Coconut-Fragrance-Oil-P3883.aspx?ItemId=27216985&amp;Options=8004" target="_blank">Island Coconut Fragrance Oil</a> for a bright, citrus scent. Check out the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/soapqueentv" target="_blank">Soap Queen TV</a> video below to learn how to make it!</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nqqRr0yGwzQ" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>What is your favorite way to use coconut oil? It&#8217;s such a versatile product! I love it in scrubs, but of course I couldn&#8217;t do without it for cold process soaps. =)</strong></p>

<p>I love the simplicity of this recipe, which made it perfect for a Soap Queen Short Video (<em>What&#8217;s a Soap Queen Short?</em> It&#8217;s a video that doesn&#8217;t have me talking and is only one camera view, instead of showing me talking and then doing close ups of the product demonstration. Some ideas just don&#8217;t need a lot of production!). Just combine Coconut Oil and Salt and the <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-craft/body-care/soaks-and-scrubs/essential-oils" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fragrance</a> or <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-craft/body-care/soaks-and-scrubs/fragrance-oils" target="_blank" rel="noopener">essential oil</a> of your choice and you have a <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/articles-and-projects/projects/body-care/soaks-and-scrubs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">luxurious scrub</a>. You may find in the warmer months that it is very soft since the Coconut oil melts at such a low temperature. So be sure you store it in a container with a good seal like our <a href="https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/packaging/jars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Plastic Bail Jar</a>.</p>
